The Standard chair is from Vitra—Switzerland’s famed design company. Originally designed in 1934 by engineer-designer Jean Prouvé, the chair has become a design icon.
Its distinctive form features voluminous, tapering back legs, juxtaposed with slim, steel-tubed front legs—a practical solution for supporting the user’s weight and creating a bold, architectural silhouette. The enduring design remains as relevant today as it was 90 years ago.
