About Città

Città is a New Zealand design company. We create furniture, lighting, textiles, and accessories to shape living spaces.

Città was founded by Margot Acland in 1989. After an inspired trip to Italy, she started a business importing Italian hand-painted ceramics to New Zealand. “Città” translates to “city” in Italian and is a nod to Margot’s early travels.

Over the past 37 years, Città has evolved to become a business firmly focused on original design. Città is proud to be family-owned and operated, with 10 stores throughout New Zealand. Our designs can also be found at more than 500 stockists worldwide.

Design Philosophy

Every Città product begins its journey in our Auckland studio. Our team of in-house designers work collaboratively to conceptualise designs that are thoughtful and enduring.

We partner with skilled artisans and makers around the world to bring these ideas to life. The result is a collection of timeless pieces—carefully considered, beautifully crafted, and made to be lived with.
